fjmt is one of a select group of leading architectural firms to design a portion of the Distillery Hill precinct, an important part of the Pyrmont peninsular urban renewal. The Sugar Dock 110-apartment development is comprised of a key residential tower incorporating an array of one, two and three-bedroom units, a series of terrace-style townhouse apartments (which create a low-rise edge to the site), residents’ gardens, roof terraces, and basement car parking.

The unique curved, fan-shaped design orients the tower apartments to the key views and amenity of the harbour. The primary façade, with fritted glass balconies, provides a light and shimmering character that dissolves the building’s silhouette and reflects the sky. On the other facades, polished precast concrete with integrated random window openings act as an appropriate counterpoint.
