fjmt is one of a select group of leading architectural firms to design a
portion of the Distillery Hill precinct, an important part of the
Pyrmont peninsular urban renewal. The Sugar Dock 110-apartment
development is comprised of a key residential tower incorporating an
array of one, two and three-bedroom units, a series of terrace-style
townhouse apartments (which create a low-rise edge to the site),
residents’ gardens, roof terraces, and basement car parking.![]() The unique curved, fan-shaped design orients the tower apartments to the key views and amenity of the harbour. The primary façade, with fritted glass balconies, provides a light and shimmering character that dissolves the building’s silhouette and reflects the sky. On the other facades, polished precast concrete with integrated random window openings act as an appropriate counterpoint. Link- www.storyphotography.com.au Special thanks to Andrew Chung |
