The repeated curvilinear gable-dormers are distinctive.

  The fascinating thing about this building is that it used to be on the corner of the long wide Devonshire Street, that ran through this area prior to the construction of Central Station (1901). This line is still preserved by the Devonshire Street tunnel, and the building now stands on a tiny corner stub of road.
