Above- an image from c. 1890 showing the corner of Pitt and Market Streets. This shows the Farmer's Victoria House building behind the newer Farmers Store (Market Street).
Above- part of the facade still survives and is incorporated into the current Westfield Sydney site.
 
 
Farmers Store - Sydney's Tallest In 1882 (Facade Remains) Cnr Market/Pitt Sts. The 7storey/92ft tall Farmers Co Bldg. in 1882, it was tallest building in Australia. First to have Otis lifts! its facade is still extant on Myers store facing Market st, cnr Pitt st mall. The corner of Pitt Street portion has been clipped off. Note that visible behind the building on Pitt Street is the demolished Farmer's Victoria House building.
