Make a list of Australia’s most famous landmarks, and there is a strong chance that Johnson Pilton Walker has designed all or part of them.

Based in Sydney, this award-winning architectural practice is behind the refurbishment of Sydney Opera House with Jørn Utzon, the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, the New Asian Wing at the Art Gallery of NSW, and the Museum of Sydney.

Since 1985, founding architect Richard Johnson has become synonymous with creating cultural buildings and spaces that are environmentally responsible and make a lasting contribution to their locale. He is the recipient of more than 50 awards, including the Royal Australian Institute of Architecture’s Gold Medal in 2008.
